She also teaches a freshmen seminar class to incoming freshman at Elizabeth City State University. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Elizabeth City State University in 2013. In 2017 she earned her Master’s in Public Administration from Strayer University. She is currently attending Walden University, pursuing her Doctorate in Criminal Justice. After accomplishing the goal of being the first in her immediate family to graduate from high school, she no longer looks at anything in life as being “too hard.” Before starting her career with Elizabeth City State University, Lyteshia worked for Strayer University as an admissions counselor. Lyteshia also performed duties as a Pasquotank-Camden 911 dispatcher for three years. Before that, she taught GED courses to inmates at Pasquotank County Correctional Institution. The future, Dr. Riddick plans to accept a full-time faculty position in criminal justice upon completing her Doctorate next year. She currently resides in Elizabeth City, NC, with her husband but is unsure where her future career will land her. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., was the captain of the Elizabeth City State University Cheerleading team, coached cheerleading at Northeastern High school, Elizabeth City Middle School, and Pasquotank County High School. Lyteshia is also the founder of the “Riddick Pay It forward Scholarship,” This scholarship provides funding to incoming freshman attending Elizabeth City State University. She attends Forest Park Church, and most of all, she enjoys giving back to her community. Lyteshia is no stranger to hard work, and her favorite motto is “pay it forward.” With her future goals to become a full-time college professor, open her non-profit organization for at-risk youth, and write her first book; she is well aware that getting stronger is her only option, and she plans to do just that.
